Fake App On Android

We all know not to open emails that you dont know? Right? Because of the chances of viruses and other junk. Well now you have to be even safer with your new droid and other app using electronics. People are creating apps to steal your personal data. A malicious Android app that masquerades as a free version of a legitimate app steals data and sends spam text messages and a warning that chastise the user for trying to get around paying for the actual app. This is some crap aint it lol. The app, available on several file-sharing sites in North America and Asia that are known as clearinghouses for pirated software, is called Walk and Text. That’s also the name of a legitimate app available on the Android Market for $1.53 that uses a device’s camera to let people see what’s in front of them as they text while walking. However, the bogus app is labeled as version 1.3.7, which doesn’t exist yet. Once the fake software which Symantec has dubbed “Android.Walkinwat” is downloaded and running, it displays a dialog box that indicates that the app is in the process of being compromised or cracked, ostensibly to scare the person who thinks they’re getting the legitimate app for free. Behind the scenes, the software is gathering sensitive data including username, phone number, and unique device identifier and trying to send it to an external server, Symantec says. The app also sends out a text message (rife with misspellings and errors) to all the numbers listed in the user’s contact list: “Hey, just downloaded a pirated App off the Internet, Walk and Text for Android. Im stupid and cheap, it costed only 1 buck.Don’t steal like I did!” So dont download anything and everything. Be careful about what you download and maybe look it up online first.

Amazon Launches Music Locker

Amazon has done it, they have successfully launched there style of music search engine. Amazon got the jump on Apple and Google this evening with the launch of a much-anticipated digital music locker service that allows users to store their music on the Web and then listen to their collections on computers with a Web browser or on Android devices. Users I guess can upload AAC files and MP3 formats. They say “Our customers have told us they don’t want to download music to their work computers or phones because they find it hard to move music around to different devices.” Which is very true, Itunes and other companies have made it hard to carry your music from computer to computer. This is just for sharing purposes. They dont want people sharing music with there friends easy. This keeps them from getting sued by music companies for not getting money for there music. Customers will automatically start with 5GB of free storage, upgradable to 20GB with the purchase of an Amazon MP3 album. This is great for people with not that music. 5GB of music is actually alot of music. Depending on the size of each song you listen to each GB can hold close to 400 to 500 songs. So 2500 songs you can store for free. This is great for listening to music anywhere you are. If you need more space, they released that it is only $20 for an extra 20GB of storage space.

Google Music

Google has begun testing Google Music internally. Two weeks ago someone writing at the XDA Developers forum claimed to have accidentally discovered Google Music after installing the Honeycomb version of the Android operating system on a phone. Turns out, that was indeed a working version of the service, the music industry insiders said, adding, however, that the final version could be much different. Google did not respond to an inquiry from CNET about Google Music.
Technologically speaking, then, Google Music–a streaming service users would access from Web-connected devices–appears close to being ready. However, the sources said the actual launch is being held up by the lack of one vital component. Music. This is googles first step toward making music a full part of there search engine. They have hit some trouble spots and flaws. They are working out the kinks and should be up and running soon. Me, I am a big music fan so this helps me find music easier and find those bands i havent found yet. I cant wait!! Most would say many sites have done this. Well google always has there ways of making there better than those who have done this already. Plus google is awesome at updating from hour to hour, day to day.

New Apple Macs!!

Most have been awaiting the new Macs. Well now they say that Apple is the closest thing to getting 4g there is right now. Other carriers and service providers have not made it so easy to get to that promised land of fast, wireless data. 4G as it’s been marketed in the States is not truly 4G by the strict definition. There are different flavors of that “4G,” like WiMax, HSPA+, and Long Term Evolution (LTE). So apple is taking the first big step into releasing the 4g speed. This is a big step most would say. 3g just came out last summer, so whats next. The possiblities are endless because there is nothing stopping them from sooner or later releasing 5g+. Some havent even got the 3g experience, now they are already moving to 4g. Some ask “does it really make a difference?”. Hell yeah it does lol. Internet speeds help makes most peoples days go faster and easier. Plus creates less stress when it comes to uploading and downloading. Most online gamers use this to there advantage to not have lagy online games. Of course if you have a crappy computer 3g or 4g can look slow sometimes but still will be faster than all internet speeds that are basic. most every ipod and cell phone run 3g now and most have taken the next step to 4g with there cell phones.

Smarter Wifi for Smartphones

http://www.wirelessweek.com/Articles/2011/01/Smarter-Wi-Fi-Smartphones-Technology/

This article is about how WiFi is the new thing and we can use it to our advantage. Smart phones run on the new found 3G network. This is fast but the traffic that comes from the usage of the network slows the network really. They are resolving this problem with working with what all around us “WiFi networks”. A WiFi network can be found at about any fast food chain and in mostly every public attraction. This is the new age and every place is offering this internet capability. If you have a smart phone your network capability might get faster. You may ask Why? Well any of the phone companies that offer 3G service are getting smarter and using WiFi to run with you phone. What? How? Basically your phone is like a mini computer and it accesses the internet. WiFi is another name for wireless internet. Instead of your phone trying to send and receive connection from a phone tower, your phone will run through wireless internet and do the same. Smart Huh!! Well this is a way for phone companies to save money and its an easy way to cut down 3G traffic. Before to long we will all be upgrading to phones that use a 3G network. So they are thinking of simpler ways to help increase or keep your internet speed on your 3G network

3D

Did you ever think you would be watching your television in 3d? Now did you ever think about watching your television in 3d without 3d glasses?

Companies have recently been working on 3dtv or Three dimensional Televisions that you don’t have to use glasses for. This is an excellent idea. 3d is the new age of watching things. Movies, now are always in 3d. They still are using older 3d technology by using glasses. 3d is changing all the time with there progression on quality. I think by 2014 every television in the United States will convert to 3dtv. This is something that will need lots more advancements. Three companies currently have glasses-free 3DTV demos on the show floor: Toshiba, LG and Sony. These big companies are already displaying there creations and putting the idea out there that this will be the new big thing. They say that the television give you headaches. So you might need asprin as they said. Toshiba is working on angle issues. This is a big problem. You need to be able to see the same from all angles. You television now has really no difference when you what from different angles. They are struggling to get the same effect to come across on a 3dtv. They say this will take much more work before these puppies hit the streets. As everyone knows, things take time and many test. So companies are rushing to be the first to put 3dtv’s out on in all stores such as your local walmart or tv dealer.

Audio to a new level

This is a new article I found and thought should be shared. This article is about audio speakers. I feel that this is a new age where appeal and styles meet technology. Companies are trying a new appeal toward buyers and consumers. Companies are making products that look appealing toward the eye such as: surround sound, subwoofers, and ect. They make boxs/speaker holders in every color and shape imaginable. They are creating them in crazy styles and in shapes that fit just about anywhere. This is a great way to get people to buy. You may ask if sound is lost by the different shapes. In some cases this is true, but in most cases they still sound and work the same. There is always test being done to see where and how you can get the best sound for you buck. Soon enough they will have speakers that look like plants, so they are hidden in your house. This is just a beginning. Soon there will be more styles then you can think of and you will be able to design your whole house to be filled with audio with out anyone ever knowing or seeing whats really there.

Military bans disks

http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/web/12/10/military.stops.leaks.wired/index.html

Military is telling troops to stop using cds, dvds, and any form of external hard drives. December 3rd, Maj. Gen. Richard Webber, commander of Air Force Network Operations, ceased the use of these computer devices because unauthorized data transfers have been occuring on classified networks using removable media and troops could exploit classified information. The Air Force immediately suspend all SIPRNET data transfer activities on removable media to put a stop to this. They cant have any classified information get exploited. The military is thinking about stopping all classified computers abilities to transfer to another disk. Military troops say this will make things more complicated to transfer information from computer to computer. They also say this will make it harder to find a network connection in a low bandwidth area. If any troops are caught using a disk, they will be punished under Article 92 of the Uniformed Code of Military Justice.”

Article 92 is the armed forces’ regulation covering failure to obey orders and dereliction of duty, and it stipulates that violators “shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”
